Custom integration earns its cost when your workflow is specific to your business: your data lives in a proprietary system, your process has rules a generic tool can't encode, or the AI needs to take actions (not just generate text) inside software you already run. That's also where the ROI tends to be highest, because the AI is solving a problem nobody's already solved for you off the shelf.

Getting Started: What to Evaluate First

Before committing budget, it's worth answering three questions: Is there a well-defined, repeatable task that's currently eating real staff time? Do you have (or can you get) access to the data the AI would need? And can you tolerate — or design around — the AI being wrong some percentage of the time?
